We shared the best times together—now let’s make sure our families do too.

For years, my college friend group was inseparable.  Then life happened. With demanding jobs and growing families, we found ourselves spread across 10 different cities, staying connected online but not seeing each other in person.

Every year we'd propose getting together but it just seemed impossible to pull off. Six years went by and 21 kids were born. I could not bear the thought of more years piling up without seeing these people I loved. I wanted to meet their kids! I wanted our kids to know each other. One day in November, I was inspired to use my project management professional skills to take on the challenge of bringing the whole crew back together in the following year. It was the most meaningful project I'd ever taken on, and I treated it as a mission I was determined to accomplish.

 

Through surveys, spreadsheets, slides, intense research and careful planning, I pulled off a whole-crew reunion, and it was absolutely magical to see our kids play together for the first time while we reconnected.

 

My dream had come true: our 12 best friends group had become a 43-person framily.
